A couple have found their ideal home at Wellingborough's Stanton Cross development.

Lisa Humphreys, 31, and Harriet Lloyd, 25, wanted a home close to Harriet’s nursery job in Wellingborough, and near key transport links for Lisa, who works as a field support manager for a London-based nursery chain and commutes via train into the capital and also to Jersey.

They found The Beeches at Stanton Cross development, off Irthlingborough Road, Wellingborough, was the ideal solution – close to the railway station for trains to London St Pancras in as little as 47 minutes, and also near the A45 for travelling by car.

Lisa said: “Harriet and I were renting a two-bedroom home in Bozeat, and we knew it was time to step onto the property ladder together.

“Stanton Cross was local to us and we’d heard lots of great things about the development, so we decided to look into who was building there and we came across Bellway.

“Bellway’s site The Beeches was in its early stages of construction at the time, so we checked out other local Bellway sites to see examples of homes that have already been built, to get a better idea of the styles on offer.”

The couple took a trip to New Cardington in Bedford – where Bellway is building a range of homes at Eastcotts Green – and this led them to reserve a new home at The Beeches off-plan.

The couple used the Government’s Help to Buy scheme to move to a three-bedroom Irchester house-type at The Beeches in July.

Lisa said: “The Help to Buy process turned out to be a lot easier than we expected.

"The Bellway staff put us at ease and were really helpful, answering all our questions and making very useful recommendations.

“We’d always wanted a kitchen separate to our living room, along with a garden.

"We now have both and there is so much more space.

“The site managers have also helped us so much along the way.

"Graham would send us photo updates of our home as it was being built, and every time John passes by he knocks and checks in on us.

“We’ve had a great experience buying with Bellway, and as we’re getting married next year, we’re very much looking forward to spending married life in our new home.”

There is a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes available at The Beeches at Stanton Cross.

Stanton Cross is the largest growth the town has seen since the 1960s, with 3,650 new houses as well as shops, schools, commercial space and doctor’s surgery on land to the east of the train station.
