Wine, cheese and chocolate bar to open in Desborough

Those who love cheese or chocolate with a glass of wine are in for a treat when a new bar opens in Desborough later this year.

Noir is set to open its doors in Station Road in the first week of December, depending on Covid-19 guidelines, offering a variety of wines and tasty morsels for over 25s.

Working on a membership basis, the bar will sell between 30 and 40 wines from around the world.

It will also offer 30 different types of chocolate from a chocolatiers in Brighton and 30 types of cheese from a Lincolnshire firm run by a mother and daughter duo - including gin and tonic cheese and charcoal cheese.

Owner Kris Malde said: "We want to give people a reason to come to Desborough with a nice, classy wine bar."

Kris has permanently moved his popular tapas bar into the bigger Ritz event space next door with Noir moving into the old tapas bar unit once it has been refurbished.

The £20,000 investment will see the bar have a flower wall and indoor water features to "bring the outdoors indoors", with a secluded garden.

He said: "It's part of the Ritz family now. If we are going to do something, we are going to do it properly."

Noir, which held a sell-out tasting evening on Monday (October 19), will have a maximum capacity of 40.

Anyone who wants to join as a member can do so for free with the option of upgrading to different levels of membership, where members get their fees back in food and drink.
