A spokesperson for Picturedrome Northampton said: “We have tried our best to stay positive and we have tried our best to support local artists over the past few months. But we now have to think about the longevity of the business. We have a better chance of survival closed at present.

“We truly miss you all, we miss our sellout events, we miss dancing, we even miss women taking eight other women to the toilet.

“Have a great Christmas and enjoy time with your loved ones. See you soon.”

The restored picturehouse venue is a hotspot for gigs, club nights and films as well as its cafe and bar with a rooftop terrace.
