Rushden looking its best as the town shows it's open for business

The town council has praised businesses for keeping the town going during the pandemic

Rushden Town Council has thanked businesses and keyworkers for keeping the town going during the pandemic.

Many businesses and shops have re-opened in Rushden and the council is full of praise for what they have done during lockdown and are doing now as they re-open to the public.

A spokesman for the town council said: "Rushden Town Council would like to praise these businesses for their patience and resilience.

"For most, it will be a very different way of operating, but we would like to welcome them back and to wish them all the very best.

"Rushden Town Council would also like to give a huge thank you to the businesses and keyworkers across the town for playing their part so magnificently during the Covid-19 pandemic. "From convenience stores, food establishments and supermarkets, to pharmacies, car garages and animal care.

"Rushden businesses and keyworkers have kept the town going and have shown true dedication in serving their community.

"The residents of Rushden are extremely grateful to the businesses who have carried on providing them with the goods and services needed throughout these very difficult and trying times.

"We hope that if anything good could come from this, it would be that it has encouraged more of a community spirit and inspired people to continue to support local businesses by shopping local.

"We encourage the residents of Rushden to sing the praises of the local businesses that you couldn't have done without, and to support the businesses that you can't wait to see back up and running, by sharing your photos, stories and words of encouragement over social media, and using the hashtag #shoprushden

"Please be aware that each individual business will have their own set of social distancing rules put in place to suit the safety and well-being of their staff and customers."

Along with East Northamptonshire Council and other partnering authorities, Rushden Town Council is continuing to support local businesses with their safe re-opening.

They have a supply of floor graphics and posters to help customer facing shops and businesses keep COVID-19 safe.

Any business which requires additional stickers or posters for your shop or business can go along to the High Street outside the Wesleyan Church between 9am and midday tomorrow (Wednesday) to collect these.

Social distancing signage and additional cleaning regimes have already been introduced to the High Street, and hand sanitising units are due to be installed in the High sSreet area this week.

Beautiful floral displays are also on show across the town, making sure there is a warm welcome for shoppers and visitors as they return to the town centre.
