Ribbon cut on new Corby Sainsbury's store now open at Priors Hall

Residents on one of Corby's newest estates will be able to pop to the shops as a new supermarket opened its doors to customers today (Wednesday).

Sainsbury’s Priors Hall Park Local was officially opened in a low-key ribbon-cutting ceremony by employee Fiona Hambly who has worked for the company for six years.

The new store will employ 22 team members, 13 of whom are new to Sainsbury’s and nine internal transfers.

Sainsbury’s Corby Prior Hall Park store manager, Martin Gilmore, said: “The dedicated Priors Hall Park team is looking forward to meeting our new customers.

"We know the local community is really going to enjoy getting their daily essentials right here on their doorstep.”

The convenience store located at the heart of the Priors Hall estate will open seven days a week, 7am through to 11pm, and has a sales floor of more than 3,010 sq ft.

Nigel Wakefield, development director for Urban&Civic, owners of Priors Hall Park, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Sainsbury’s to Priors Hall Park.

"Having a store that’s so easily accessible for our community has always been an important part of the development and in these challenging times it’s perhaps even more important than ever to have access to everything you need within walking distance.

"We’ve no doubt that Sainsbury’s will become an integral part of our community and with six further units to be announced soon, 2021 will be a very exciting year for Priors Hall Park.”

As well as food-to-go products, ready meals and pantry essentials, customers can grab a Costa coffee from in-store, access an ATM cash machine and use the Argos Click & Collect service.

Sainsbury’s property director, Patrick Dunne said: “Sainsbury’s is excited to be opening the doors to its newest store, representing a significant investment in Northamptonshire.

"We’re proud to have delivered a local shopping experience that will meet the needs of Priors Hall Park well into the future.

"This new store has provided an economic boost to the local economy, enhanced retail choice in the community and created jobs.”

The Sainsbury’s colleagues will play an active role in the local community and support Sainsbury’s nationwide community programmes and charity partners.
