A popular stationery business with branches across Northamptonshire will continue into a third generation after the founder's grand-daughter joined the firm.

Colemans, which has 13 High Street stores across the county and neighbouring shires, is keeping it in the same family that has owned it since John Coleman founded the firm in Higham Ferrers back in 1969.

John is now in his 80s and still puts in shifts, and Colemans is now run by his daughter Joanna.

And now Joanna's daughter Tallie has joined the firm as business development manager after five years in buying and business development at Sainsbury's, having gaining a coveted place on their graduate scheme when she left Edinburgh University.

Her first project with her mum has been creating a new website during lockdown.

Joanna said: “I joined my father at the age of 24 and built the business from five branches to 15.

"The world of retail is very different now and the opportunity to bring Tallie on board with all the skills she has gained working for a global retailer means that the future of our wonderful family business is now assured.”

Anyone who lives within 30 miles of any of the Colemans stores can access free same-day delivery of stock items, or a next-day delivery service with no minimum order.
