A Kettering children's author will finally be able to launch her new book after lockdown forced her to postpone her original launch and art exhibition.

Olivia Wilson launched 'A Froggit's Tale' in The Bean Hive on Friday (August 28). The story was inspired by local woodlands and countryside, in particular Warkton and Weekley Woods.

Olivia said: "I’m feeling really excited about the launch but obviously nervous about how it will be received. It feels good to finally have it out there!"

The story tells the tale of a Froggit, who embarks on an adventure to rescue his previous crystal, making friends along the way.

Olivia quit her arts and textiles teaching job in February to write full time, but found herself in March with a finished book but unable to launch because of lockdown.

She is now launching the book and some illustrations and sculptures inspired by the creatures and fauna of local woodlands. The creations will be in the window display of The Bean Hive.
