A supermarket could be set to relocate after applying for new signs to go up at another town centre unit.

Iceland Foods Ltd, which already has a store at Eaton Walk in Rushden, has made two applications relating to the former Store Twenty One in Rushden High Street.

The applications submitted to East Northants Council include for fascia and projecting signs to the front of the building as well as recolouring of the existing shopfront grey and installation of new bi-parting entrance doors and side screens.

The Northants Telegraph asked Iceland for a comment and a spokesman said they would not be commenting on the planning application at this stage.

However, the spokesman for the supermarket chain did add that if the move took place, the new store would open early in 2021.
