Get into the Christmas spirit at Rushden Lakes pop-up fair

A huge array of handmade and vintage items will be on sale at Rushden Lakes over two consecutive weekends as part of a Christmas fair.

The popular shopping park will host the event, in partnership with MK Handmade and Vintage, this weekend (December 5 and 6) and next weekend (December 12 and 13).

The pop-up fair, which will be at the retail park's Central Boulevard, will give shoppers the chance to take a look at what's on offer from artists, designers and vintage dealers with hand-crafted products on sale.

Sellers will include local sisters Sophie and Leah Sigsworth, who recently made headlines for creating successful businesses in lockdown, who will be making an appearance on December 5 and 6.

Leah, who is only 18 and who is now selling her hand-made jewellery around the world, will be showcasing her stunning collection at the fair. She creates her one-off pieces in her back garden workshop.

Rushden Lakes centre manager Donna French said: “We are very excited to unveil this new and exciting festive celebration with MK Handmade and Vintage.

"And what better way to enjoy this time of year than perusing gorgeous bespoke stalls and displays of unique, hand-crafted produce, all of which will fit perfectly into our current Rushden offering.

“It’s our aim, now more than ever, to not only support as many small businesses and entrepreneurs as we can but also bring a little sparkle to the local community.

"It promises to be a lovely day out for the family and will hopefully get people into the Christmas spirit.”

The fair will run from 9am to 6pm on each Saturday and 10.30am to 5pm on each Sunday.

Organisers say it will be adhering to all government Covid-19 guidelines to ensure the safety of customers and stallholders.
