Rushden High Street was bustling as businesses were finally able to re-open and welcome customers back through their doors.

The sun shone as the tills started ringing again at businesses along the town's High Street yesterday (Monday).

People loved being able to visit their local hairdresser or barber, pop to the gym for a work-out or browse the latest trends in the clothes stores.

And Rushden mayor Melanie Coleman spent the morning visiting numerous businesses who have been missed in recent months.

Businesses she visited included: In Bloom florist and gift shop, Jonathan Brown Hairdressing, Crystelle Belle jewellery shop, Anytime Fitness Rushden gym, P.W.House jewellery shop, Select Fashion Rushden clothing store, Blue Corner Cafe who were trialling some new outdoor seating and Housewives Choice.

The mayor visited The Rose And Crown where they were busy getting ready for their big re-opening in May and she also gave her congratulations to Alco Taxis' new management team and praised them for their investment in the newly refurbished premises.

The mayor will be back in the High street and surrounding areas tomorrow (Wednesday) morning so anyone who would like a visit from the mayor can email Rushden Town Council on [email protected]cil.gov.uk
