Chicken chain re-opens its doors at Rushden Lakes

Another food outlet has re-opened its doors at Rushden Lakes.

Nando's re-opened its branch in the leisure terrace yesterday (Tuesday) for takeaway and click and collect.

Numerous measures have been put in place to protect both staff and customers.

A spokesman for Nando's said: "The menu will be reduced to help the team maintain social distance in the kitchen and food prep areas.

"Each Nando’s restaurant is working under strict government guidelines on top of their existing health and safety procedures.

"Every member of the team has been washing their hands more frequently while maintaining social distance during shifts and PPE is available for all staff to wear.

"Designated waiting areas have been set up for drivers and collect customers and order volumes will be monitored to avoid queues.

"The restaurant teams will also be working hard to make sure that deliveries are as safe as possible, drivers will maintain social distancing while waiting to pick up orders, restaurant staff will hand over food while maintaining social distance and contactless delivery will be available upon request."

And the spokesman added: "The safety of the Nando’s team and its customers remains the number one priority, so every team member who comes to work will be checked to make sure they are fit and well.

"Strict social distance protocols will be in place, and there will be daily hygiene and health and safety briefings.

"The ability to operate the service will be assessed on a daily basis and if there are any concerns whatsoever about safety, Nando’s will immediately close the kitchens."
