The work of the Bard comes to an open air theatre in Pitsford

An award winning Pitsford theatrical production company is staging a play in its home village for the first time on Saturday.

White Cobra Productions is staging a special one-off performance of The Shakespeare Revue in the open air, in the grounds of the converted stable block where The Queen and Princess Margaret learned how to ride a horse.

The show is a fast moving series of songs and sketches written by such luminaries as Victoria Wood, Stephen Sondheim and Peter Cook, based (very) loosely on the works of William Shakespeare.

White Cobra director Kate Billingham said: “We’ve a tremendous response wherever we’ve toured the show, it’s a real feel good evening so to perform it in our own village is really exciting”.

Part of the proceeds from the event will be going towards local good causes including the village sports pavilion.
