Jeeves and Wooster’s Perfect Nonsense sees the duo visit a country house weekend takes a turn for the worse, Bertie Wooster is unwittingly called on to play matchmaker and also to steal a silver cow creamer from Totleigh Towers.

The tone of the piece is absolutely perfect and is pure Wodehouse from start to finish.

The ever dependable Jeeves is played admirably by Joseph Chance with admirable aloofness.

He is joined by Matthew Carter who delights as a clueless but charming Bertie Wooster and is more than a match for the much more well known stars who have played the role in the theatre previously.

There were a couple of things that went wrong during the show but rather than being a disaster, they simply added to the joyfulness of the piece.

It is a show that will put those who love in a comedy in a good mood and one worth checking out.

Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense can be seen until Saturday. To book call 01604 624811 or visit www.royalandderngate.co.uk.
