Sing, laugh, dance, repeat!- a fun evening of musical comedy at the Castle Theatre, Wellingborough, presented by Arts Barn Gilbert & Sullivan Society on November 14 and 15.

There are songs from many well-known shows including The Sound of Music, Mamma Mia and Spamalot. The delight of the quartet is experienced in ‘Elegance’ from Hello Dolly and ‘Regular Royal Queen’ from Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Gondoliers.

Stephen Sondheim was one of the most successful and imaginative musical creators of the 20th century. Some of his songs are in this concert and ‘A Comedy Tonight’ from A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum celebrates the joy of theatre.

The programme for the concert is a celebration of the fun and diverse nature of Musical Theatre and how this is a continuation of the work of earlier composers and librettists such as Gilbert and Sullivan. In their day, G&S were pushing the boundaries of satire, addressing political and social issues in their work and it is this that resonated with so many writers and composers over the generations since.

Arts Barn extends a warm welcome to new Musical Director, David Chambers, who brings his style, charisma, and vast musical experience to the group.

We are delighted to be joined at the piano for all three performances by well-known local composer and accompanist, Kaye Tompkins.

The Director is Susan Drake, content is provided by Elisabeth Page and choreography by Alice Holmes.

Sing, Laugh, Dance, Repeat! runs from Friday 14th to Saturday 15th November at 7.45pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.

Tickets £15 (£10 students) available online at castletheatre.co.uk or call the box office on 01933 270007.
