Pantomime season is nearly upon us… oh, yes it is! And after their sell out production of ‘Cinderella’ last year, Laugh Out Loud Theatre Company are buzzing to be back at The Masque Theatre, Kettering, this December with their brand new show ‘Sleeping Beauty’. The pantomime of your dreams comprises of a team of local talent.

Originally from Lancashire, the fantastic Raunds actor, Keith Maddern will be taking on the larger-than-life Dame role as Queen Marigold, the hilarious Danielle Corr joins us as Julian Fairy and Prince William (hope she’s ready for the quick changes!), the delightful Natalie Částka returns as Princess Aurora, newcomer Reece Prigg is a joy as King Cactus and Muddles the Jester, and Emma Kendrick will be back as the evil fairy, Malevolent.

Natalie said, “I was so excited to be back as Princess Aurora this year that I’ve even made my own dress! It was the most complicated pattern I’ve done to date but I’m really pleased with the result and can’t wait to show it off on stage. I love playing the Princess, it’s like all my childhood dreams come true. And this year I get to sleep through most of Act 2 so the line learning is a breeze!”

When asked if Keith was excited to be appearing as a Dame for the first time he said, “It’s something that I wanted to try but I wasn’t sure that I’d be able to pull it off. The Dame role is so iconic and it’s what a lot of people go to panto to see, but it has evolved and changed over the years. I wanted to ensure that mine was a traditional Dame and embody some of the greats of the past. When I sent a photo to my wife of me all dressed up at the Kettering Christmas Lights Switch On, she said she couldn’t look at me! Apparently the makeup suits me a little too much. Christmas is such a special time of year, a time for families to come together and I think, especially this year, we need some festive cheer more than ever. I can’t wait to get on that stage, it’s going to be so much fun and a pleasure to be a part of this show!”

A troupe of impressive dancers from Louise Wright Theatre School will be joining the professionals on stage to add to the wow factor.

The Masque Theatre is operated by Kettering Community Trust and is a professional Performing Arts Centre. Situated on the grounds of the Latimer Arts College, Castle Way, Barton Seagrave, Kettering.
