Hidden secrets, ghostly tales and forgotten histories await as Mystery Tour Productions returns to Northampton
Mystery Tour Productions is set to return to Northampton town centre this February with Hidden Secrets of Northampton, an atmospheric guided walking tour that blends theatrical storytelling with carefully researched local history.
Taking place on Saturday, 21st February, 2026 at 6:30pm, the evening tour leads audiences through the historic streets of Northampton, revealing stories rarely told — from links to the Crown Jewels and a secret D’Day factory, to ghostly encounters and hidden corners of the town’s past.
The walk begins outside St Peter’s Church, Marefair, and offers an immersive experience designed to entertain as much as it informs.
James Smith, company director at Mystery Tour Productions and performer of the tour’s Time Traveller, said:
“We’re really looking forward to bringing these remarkable tales to life in Northampton town centre. The town has such a rich, layered history, and this tour allows audiences to experience it in a way that’s immersive, theatrical, and a little bit mysterious.”
Mystery Tour Productions has developed a strong working relationship with Northampton Town Council’s Events Team, delivering guided walks and storytelling experiences as part of the town’s cultural programme. The Events Team at Northampton Town Council commented:
“We’ve had great experiences working with The Mystery Tours — they’ve become a fantastic partner for so many of our events at Northampton Town Council.”
Audience feedback has also been highly positive, with one attendee describing the tours as “packed full of everything you ever wanted to know about Northampton’s interesting and rich past.”
