This St George’s Day, Wharf Distillery invites whisky lovers to celebrate England’s growing whisky story with a special evening dedicated to English single malt. Taking place on Thursday 23rd April 2026 at 7pm, the event coincides with the UK’s English Whisky Week and marks another milestone in the evolution of England’s whisky movement.

Hosted by founder Laurence Conisbee, the evening offers guests an immersive look inside Northamptonshire’s only whisky distillery. The experience begins with a crafted welcome drink, before guests step into the distilling room to meet “Velocity” and “Mari” – the copper stills at the heart of Wharf’s grain-to-glass production.

Throughout the evening, Laurence will share the distillery’s journey from its early days to becoming part of a thriving national category. Guests will discover what defines English Whisky, how it differs from Scotch and other global styles, and why small-batch production remains central to Wharf’s character and quality.

The evening is designed to be relaxed and interactive, encouraging conversation, questions and a deeper appreciation of the craft behind each bottle.

Summer Launch of Wharf’s next Limited Edition Whisky

In June 2026 Wharf plan to launch their next whisky offering. It is currently maturing in wooden casks and by the time of it’s release it will have been for three years. They choose the Vernal or Autumnal Equinox for the beginning and end of this maturation process, and these dates are significant as they reflect the scarce nature of their whisky, only filling a few casks a year. Contact Wharf for further details.
