Dock Diving Returns for Spring & Summer as Popular Canine Sport Continues to Grow

With longer days and warmer weather on the horizon, one of the region’s most exciting dog sports is making a welcome return. The local dock diving facility is officially reopening for the spring and summer season, inviting both seasoned competitors and curious newcomers to enjoy a mix of sport, swimming and tail-wagging fun.
Dock diving, a fast-growing canine sport where dogs leap from a dock into water in pursuit of a toy, has continued to gain momentum across the UK. Combining athleticism with enthusiasm, the sport provides an engaging outlet for energetic dogs while strengthening the bond between dog and owner.
The upcoming season promises a varied programme designed to appeal to everyone, from those keen to explore a new activity, to experienced handlers looking to build confidence, improve technique and develop distance performance. Alongside structured sport-focused sessions, relaxed general swim opportunities will also be available offering dogs the chance to enjoy the water in a safe and supportive environment.
The facility has built a reputation for its welcoming approach, helping many dogs take their first leap into the sport in a way that feels positive and pressure-free. For some, the thrill lies in chasing distance achievements, while others simply enjoy swimming and gaining confidence in the water at their own pace.

Owner Holly Davis said:
"It’s been wonderful to see how much interest in dock diving has grown over the last few years. What makes it so special is that it really is for everyone, from competitive teams wanting to progress in the sport, to owners who simply want to give their dog a fun and enriching experience. Seeing dogs build confidence and genuinely love what they’re doing is incredibly rewarding. We’re really looking forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new teams back to the dock this season."
As awareness of canine fitness and enrichment continues to increase, activities such as dock diving are becoming recognised not only as competitive disciplines but also as valuable ways to support dogs’ physical health and mental wellbeing.
With sessions designed to accommodate a wide range of breeds, ages and experience levels, the new season aims to build on previous success and continue growing the local dock diving community. Whether attending for structured sport training or relaxed fun swims, participants can expect a friendly atmosphere with guidance available to help dogs and handlers get the most from their time at the pool.
Those interested in taking part this season are encouraged to explore the available sessions and secure a space, as warmer months tend to see strong demand from dogs eager to return to the water.
Dock diving offers a unique combination of exercise, excitement and partnership and with the season now underway, it looks set to be another summer filled with big splashes and even bigger enthusiasm.
