The club have recommended that the first-team squad and back room staff take a test but they are hopeful none of their upcoming matches will be impacted.

Solkhon was an unused substitute for last weekend's 2-0 victory over Chelmsford City in the second qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup at Latimer Park but didn't travel for the opening Vanarama National League North game of the season as Kettering were beaten 3-1 at Gloucester City on Tuesday night.

He has already featured for St Ives Town on two occasions this season after signing on a dual registration and St Ives are currently in lockdown after an outbreak of the virus within their squad.

In a statement, the Poppies said: "Following a recommended Covid test the club can confirm that a member of the first-team squad, along with a member of the ladies’ team, have tested positive for the Covid virus.

"In line with club, league and government policy both players have been told to isolate (for a minimum of two weeks) and will only return to training once they are clear of the virus and deemed medically fit.

"In line with policy any other clubs that may be affected have been notified and our club Covid officers are following our protocols.

"We have recommended that squad members and back room personnel take a test and inform the club of their result. At this point in time we do not expect this news to impact any upcoming fixtures.

"The club wish both players a speedy recovery."

The Poppies are due to play Southport in a league game at Latimer Park on Saturday before travelling to county rivals Brackley Town in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup next Tuesday night.
