Lee Dickson believes Saints’ rotation policy has again put them in position to pick up some silverware.

The likes of the Pisi brothers and Christian Day were left out of the squad which travelled to Saracens for last Saturday’s LV= Cup semi-final.

And with the Six Nations now over, Saints will get their international stars back this week.

That will be a major boost ahead of Friday’s Aviva Premiership clash with Wasps at Franklin’s Gardens and a Champions Cup quarter-final at Clermont Auvergne a week later.

And Dickson said: “We’ve got an ample squad. We left a few people at home last weekend and they’ll be even more fresh and ready to go.

“We’ve got the internationals returning so that will be a big boost and it’s all about rotating and keeping people fresh.

“As we showed last year in winning the Premiership, it was all about having a solid squad, keeping everyone fit and raring to go for that end-of-season push.

“As it showed last Saturday, the season means nothing if you don’t win in semi-finals and finals.”
