Gang of men assault victim after asking him for a cigarette in Rushden

A man was left with cuts and bruises to the face after being attacked by a gang of men who had asked him for a cigarette.

The 31-year-old victim was approached by a group of six or seven men sometime between 10.40pm and 11pm on Friday, January 29, in Station Road, Rushden.

They asked him for a cigarette before assaulting him and making off.

The victim, who was walking in the direction of Wellingborough Road when the attack took place, was left with cuts and bruises to his face.

The offenders were all white men, aged in their early 20s and had local accents.

All wore dark coloured clothing.
