The big-hearted company has helped raise money for Children in Need

Rushden’s Croyland Car Megastore enlisted the help of its mascot Cooper the dog to stage a social media competition giving participants the opportunity to win themselves £50 worth of fuel from its onsite Shell Station.

Competition entrants had to try to guess the number of dog biscuits in Cooper’s jar and the closest guess would win, with Croyland donating money every time someone made a guess.

The competition proved popular with more than 100 people posting their guess, which helped raise an initial £59 for the charity, which Croyland doubled donating a grand total of £118, with eagle eyed Rachel Firth announced as the winner.

Croyland Car Megastore general manager Mark Swindells said: “Every year we support Children in Need and this year we decided it would be great to get people to try to guess the number of dog biscuits in Cooper’s jar.

"There were 113 in total, and it was great so many people engaged with the fundraising charity competition.

“We wanted to further boost the amount raised, as we had agreed to pledge 50p for every guess made and then decided to match the initial amount, taking the total donation to £118.

"This latest charity donation is just one of the many ways Croyland supports numerous charities, community causes and clubs all year round.”
