An East Northants B&B is once again holding a big Christmas lights switch-on to raise money for Corby's Lakelands Hospice.

Spanhoe Lodge in Laxton, run by Reece Crane and Neil Roberts, will host the event on Friday, November 29.

Having spent a small fortune every year on decorating Spanhoe Lodge with Christmas lights and inviting friends and family to the switch-on, Reece and Neil first opened it up to the general public as a fundraising event for Lakelands Hospice two years ago.

The last two events were a huge success, raising in excess of £700. They say it will be even bigger and better this year and hope to raise more than £1,000.

Santa’s Market Place will have even more gift ideas for Christmas on offer, including toys, gifts, wreaths and home-made preserves. Returning by popular demand will be the photos with Santa in the Pic N Clix photobooth. Homemade soup and mulled wine will be served along with freshly-baked mince pies.

New for this year will be local Grasmere Farm's hot freshlybaked sausage rolls and hot locally-sourced turkey rolls.

The event opens at 6pm, with lights being switched on at 7pm. There will also be carol singers, a brass band and Christmas quiz, all with free entrance and free parking.

The lights will be on for viewing throughout December.
