Two arrested after attempted theft of catalytic converter in Northampton

Two men were arrested yesterday (March 9) after a man was seen trying to steal a catalytic converter from a car in Northampton.

The incident took place in Abbots Way at around 12.40pm when a man was witnessed attempting to elevate a blue Honda Jazz. He was, however, disturbed by the owner of the vehicle and subsequently ran off.

Two men - aged 18 and 42 - were arrested a short time later.

The Northants Police ANPR, tweeting about the incident, said: "More people coming into the county in cloned vehicles to steal from us today. Cat converters again. Intel team 1 step ahead. Vehicles found and recovered. Prisoners. Don’t come back."
