Rushden goods shed provides perfect venue for Royal British Legion fundraiser

The event was so successful that they are now considering a Christmas version

People were able to take a step back in time while enjoying a cream tea at a fundraiser for the Royal British Legion.

Co-hosted by Rushden Historical Transport Society(RHTS) and Ria's Rosy Lee, people got to enjoy fresh scones with all the trimmings and tea and coffee at the Tommy Tea event on September 12.

The socially distanced event was held in the goods shed at RHTS where service was provided from a reproduction NAAFI van, while vintage music filled the air and some of the classic vehicles on display could be admired.

The afternoon was rounded off with a raffle of prizes donated by local businesses.

The pre-booked event was a sell-out and due to its success, a Christmas version is being considered.
