Europa strikes Gold in Northamptonshire’s ‘Golden Triangle’

Ambitious 3PL fulfilment provider Europa Warehouse in Corby, Northants, has won two awards at this year’s Northamptonshire Logistics Awards (NLA).

The company takes home the award for Health, Safety & Wellbeing, as well as the coveted Big Logistics Company of the Year.

The NLA is an opportunity to recognise the successes of one of Britain’s most dynamic sectors within the centre of the ‘Golden Logistics Triangle’. Europa Warehouse is the specialist 3PL division of Europa Worldwide Group, and has had a presence within Northants since 2015.

Europa’s Corby warehouse, which was constructed and commissioned at the height of the pandemic, is based at Midlands Logistics Park, and employs more than 300 people from across the county.

As well as taking home the big prize this year, Europa Warehouse in Corby has been recognised for how seriously it takes the ongoing welfare of its team.

For example, in the last two years, it has developed initiatives like the Safety Bucks and Safety Cup challenges, which are internal competitions recognising individuals who go the extra mile to ensure that everyone ‘work safely and responsibly’, which as an important one of Europa’s Values.

Further to this, it has invested more than £11m in high-tech automation and incident management software to deliver an agile approach with optimal output, while maintaining the safety of its team.

Europa Warehouse operates across three bonded sites in Dartford, Birmingham and Corby. The £60m Corby warehouse houses 750,000 sq. ft worth of pallet storage and 3PL fulfilment space. It’s capable of storing up to 100,000 pallets and processes up to 50,000 units of goods per day through its automation system.

The judging panel commented, “Europa demonstrated some great initiatives across the site to the benefit of all employees. Scale and design of this company has been set up with employee engagement, covering so much of their activity. A standout winner for the judges this year.”

Europa Warehouse is part of Europa Worldwide Group, an ambitious independent logistics operator with two other divisions, Europa Road and Europa Air & Sea.

The company has been featured in The Sunday Times Top Track 250 for three years. Europa has invested £5 million in its innovative market-leading product, Europa Flow, providing a frictionless flow of goods between the EU and the UK post Brexit.

The group employs over 1,400 people with 29 international sites in the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Europe, Hong Kong, China and the UAE. The global operator recently reported a record turnover of £302m for the last 12 months, as of August 2022, and remains on track with its ambitious investment programme.
