The brother of Stevie Pentelow was jailed for contempt of court

The brother of the Little Harrowden stabbing victim has been jailed for six months for disrupting the verdicts in the trial over his sibling's death.Billy Pentelow angrily shouted, swore, and threw a lighter across the courtroom when Sifean Ghilani, 20, was found not guilty of murdering Stevie Pentelow on Thursday, March 5.

After his outburst, Judge Mayo called for Billy Pentelow to be arrested for contempt of court but he had left the building.

Billy Pentelow handed himself into police on Sunday evening and was sentenced by Judge Lucking at Northampton Crown Court yesterday.

Shouting out in court is a crime with a penalty of up to two years in prison, a fine, or both.

Taking into consideration the reason Billy Pentelow was in court for the verdicts and the fact he handed himself in, Judge Lucking sentenced him to six months in prison.

Billy Pentelow apologised for his actions and any harm caused.

During the trial, Ghilani had accepted he stabbed Stevie Pentelow but said it was an accident and happened after he saw and picked up a knife from the floor.

Three men and a 16-year-old boy from Wellingborough had been on trial charged with conspiracy to rob and murder.

Sifean Ghilani, 20, of Winstanley Road, Tristan Patel, 18, of Newcomen Road, and Levar Thomas, 21, of Knox Road, were all found guilty of conspiracy to rob and manslaughter.

They were all found not guilty of murder.

The 16-year-old boy was acquitted on all charges.

The three men will be sentenced on Friday, March 20.
