Proud Wood desperate to seal a cup double
Wood was once again in fine form as he skippered his side to a 30-16 Amlin Challenge Cup final success against Bath at Cardiff Arms Park on Friday night.
The victory ended a run of four successive final defeats for Saints, who battled back from 13-6 down to beat Bath and earn their first trophy since the 2010 LV= Cup triumph.

Hide AdAnd England star Wood is now keen to see his side produce another big performance as they bid to see off Saracens and claim Aviva Premiership glory at Twickenham.
“It’s been hugely frustrating to be so close for the past four years, but we’ve finally got a winners medal,” said the influential flanker. “I’m immensely proud of that and it’s been a long time coming.
“Those were the messages we gave before the game, that it’s nine months work. We’ve been grafting through pre-season, all those hours running on the back pitches, all the lads have been in the trenches while the lads have been away on internationals.
“It all comes down to days like last Friday. To fall short is desperately disappointing so to get the win last Friday made it all worthwhile.
“We’re immensely proud of that and this week will be no different. The same messages will be in place. We want to do that double.”
