Kettering's Kyren bursts into the world top 20
But, despite reaching the semi-finals of the German Masters in Berlin last week, the Kettering star returned home with more than a hint of disappointment.
In an all-Northamptonshire clash, Wilson came from 4-1 down to beat Wellingborough man Rory McLeod 5-4 in the first round and that set the tone for what was to follow.

But he was unable to reach a second ranking final as he went down 6-3 to Luca Brecel in Saturday’s semi-final.
The run to the last four elevated Wilson to number 19 in the world rankings.
But the Shanghai Masters champion was left frustrated by his overall performance in Germany and insists he will be working even harder to improve.
“I am not really satisfied at all,” Wilson said.

“I didn’t play well all week but I still beat three top-class players and even in the semi-final I had the chance for a clearance to make it 6-4 but got a massive kick on the yellow.
“I tried to hang in there but the week has shown me that I am capable of finding other ways to win.
