Happy Ma’afu wants more success with Saints
The Australian prop arrived at Northampton from Western Force last summer and went on to become a cult figure at Franklin’s Gardens.
He played his part in the double success, earning Amlin Challenge Cup and Aviva Premiership winners medals.

Hide AdBut the 31-year-old is not content with being a one-season wonder and wants his team to kick on this time round.
“I’m very pleased with the outcome of last season,” said Ma’afu.
“We got two trophies and this year we’ll look to do better.
“We’ll look to make small improvements and look at the bigger picture to achieve a lot more than what we did.”

Hide AdSaints are now in the midst of their pre-season preparations as they get ready for the big Premiership kick-off against Gloucester at the Gardens on September 5.
And Ma’afu, who took time to get up to speed at Saints last season, is feeling fresh as he gets set to help inspire another title push.
“Last year was a bit tough coming off the back of Super Rugby so to finish the season on a high and have a nice break has been good,” said Ma’afu.
“We’ve all had a few weeks to pick things up again and freshen up mentally and physically. Heading into the new season will be good.”
