Spencer Weir-Daley was a four-goal hero as Kettering Town picked up a morale-boosting 7-0 win.

The Poppies demolished St Ives and collected a valuable three points in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division.

They were just two goals to the good at half-time after James Brighton and Weir-Daley both found the net.

But the second period brought an avalanche of goals as Weir-Daley struck three more times - once from the spot after Brighton had been felled - before Jermaine Howe and Wilson Carvalho also scored in the final 10 minutes.

AFC Rushden & Diamonds also had a striker in supreme form as they edged out Stocksbridge Park Steels 3-2 in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South.

Nabil Shariff scored all of their goals including an 86th-minute winner.

He had put Diamonds 2-0 up before the home side pegged them back to 2-2.

However, Shariff had the last say with his hat-trick goal in the dying stages.
