Wellingborough fun day to raise funds for cricket club and school
The event will be taking place at the Wellingborough Indians Cricket Club ground in Sywell Road from 11am to 6pm on Sunday, July 17.
The club was the victim of a number attacks a few years ago, when arsonists torched two cars at the ground days after racist graffiti was sprayed on the walls of the clubhouse.

The club now wants to raise enough money to repair and renovate the building and install CCTV cameras.
The fun day is being jointly organised by Rowan Gate School, which is raising money to replace its minibus which it uses to take children on educational visits and outings.
Mamta Patel from the cricket club said: “WICC has had many unfortunate incidents at the club with many things being stolen and twice we’ve had racist graffiti sprayed on the mobile pavilions.

“We have had a great response from local businesses and companies in Wellingborough and further afield.
“They are helping us by supplying equipment and materials, sending sports coaches to provide althetics, football, cricket and many more fun and games on the day.
“This will encourage younger children to be aware of how important it is to be active and fit.”
