Northants County Council is continuing to keep the temporary parking restrictions in place until February 28 in recognition of the increase in vehicles parked in residential areas due to the current national lockdown.
Civil enforcement officers (CEO) are expected to work during the current lockdown to ensure that unlawful or obstructive parking does not hinder emergency services, waste collection or deliveries to essential businesses.

Cabinet member for place, highways and the environment Cllr Jason Smithers said: “Unlike the first national lockdown, significant activity is continuing so it’s essential that civil enforcement officers keep working to ensure the safe management of our streets.
“All motorists are reminded that they should not park dangerously or cause an obstruction including blocking a dropped kerb, on zigzags at crossings, in loading restrictions and on yellow lines protecting junctions.
“It is vital that we keep the county moving, maintain traffic flow and focus on safety and access for emergency and essential services."

Non-permit holders will need to continue to obey time restrictions and parking on single yellow lines is not permitted.

Anyone who receives a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) will need to follow the statutory process in place as detailed on the reverse of the PCN itself.
