Weather experts are warning Northamptonshire to get ready for a three-day battering as Storm Alex brings plenty of wind and rain over the weekend.
Some heavy rain is forecast for most of Friday but things really turn nasty on Saturday morning as the Met Office has issued a yellow weather alert for the county effective from 3am through to 6pm on Sunday.

Hide AdMotoring organisations issued their own plea for drivers to be careful in what they fear could be "ugly and horrid" conditions on the roads and public transport could also be disrupted.
Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist at the Met Office, Nick Silkstone, said: “Saturday will be a very wet day as heavy bands of rain push north and west across the country, followed by showery rain on Sunday.
"The Met Office has issued a rain warning covering large parts of the country over the weekend and we’re urging people to keep a close eye on the forecast during this spell of disruptive weather.”
Storm Alex, a weather system named by Météo-France earlier this week, will clip the southern edge of Britain and be followed by another low-pressure system moving in from the east.

Hide AdRain is expected to be heaviest on Saturday morning with gusts of up to 35mph adding to problems. The only bright spot is it should not be too cold at around 13°C, although it might be a degree or two chillier on Sunday.
RAC Breakdown's Rod Dennis added: “Heavy rain will make road conditions miserable if not downright dangerous for drivers this weekend, and they’ll need to be prepared for an ugly mix of surface spray, gusty winds and more than likely some disruption on the roads.
“Floods are also a possibility so drivers should remember never to attempt to drive through water unless they know for sure that it’s shallow enough.
"For drivers who are unlucky enough to breakdown in the horrid conditions, our patrols will be working around the clock to get them moving again.”
