Thieves steal bike and two Samurai swords from Rothwell garage
They broke in and stole the items from the garage of a house in Horsefair Lane, Rothwell, sometime between 1am and 6am today (Monday).
Owner James Jacobsen is appealing for help in tracing the bike, which has sentimental value for him as he has taken part in charity rides on it, but also for the safe return of the swords which could be dangerous in the wrong hands.

Hide AdMr Jacobsen said: “I brought one of the swords back from Africa in 2002 and one is a futuristic sword so it’s got quite a sharp blade on it.”
The stolen bike is a Diamond Back Overdrive with a lime green frame and it now has a white saddle.
Mr Jacobsen added: “It’s not just a bike, it’s got sentimental value.
“I did a charity ride on it two years ago for a girl in Africa and I was looking to do another one next year.”

Hide AdA police spokesman said: “We were called at 6.57am this morning to a report of a burglary with a bike and two Samurai swords being taken from the garage.
“We have had the report and are investigating it, but would like to hear from anyone who saw anyone in that area acting suspiciously to let us know by calling 101.”
