Smash-and-grab on cash machine during Finedon ram raid
Thieves attempted a smash-and-grab on the cash machine at the Premier store in Irthlingborough Road in the early hours of today (Wednesday).
John Ellson was woken by the noise of the thieves trying to smash their way into the shop and these pictures show the trail of destruction they left behind.

Hide AdJohn said: “I witnessed a ram raid at my corner shop at 2.45am.
“Four or five masked men used a Land Rover to smash their way into the shop and dragged out the ATM which they loaded into an Audi estate car.
“It nearly fell out three times as they tried to drive away.
“They finally made off with the ATM, leaving the Land Rover behind.”

Hide AdA spokesman for Northants Police said: “After gaining entry to the store by ramming the shutters, the offenders removed the cash machine, which they placed into a dark-coloured Audi before making off in the vehicle.
“There are believed to have been four male offenders who arrived at the scene in the Audi and also a Land Rover Defender, which was left outside the store following the burglary.
“Officers are appealing for information and anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have seen either vehicle in the area prior to the incident or the Audi following it, is asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101.
“Alternatively, they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
