Woodford open gardens weekend promises flowers, fun and Fudd

Garden fans will be able to feast their eyes on a selection of 15 plant-packed patches as visitors with a love of all things green-fingered get the chance to snoop at shrubs and peep at the petals.
Flower fans and gardeners in Woodford near Thrapston have been preparing their little pieces of paradise in readiness for the village's open gardens event on July 3 and 4.

Hide AdWith live music, teas and plants for sale on The Green, visitors can make their way around the different sized and style gardens on a trail around the village.
Richard Goodband, co-organiser, said: "Visitors can expect to see a variety of gardens ranging from small to large and everything in between - there's something for everyone.
"We hope to be selling teas, there will be live music, plants for sale and The Dukes Arms will be open selling beer and other refreshments."
All gardens will be open on both days from 1pm to 5pm with entertainment from covers band The Elmer Fudd Experience on The Green on Saturday, July 4, playing between 2pm and 4pm.

Hide AdTickets costing £5 valid for both days can be bought on either day from The Green or Woodford Church - under 16s get free entry - with all proceeds going to the St Mary's Church Repair Fund.
Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions the proposed flower festival in the church had to be cancelled.
