Help give Corby a spring clean
The new Great British Spring Clean will roll out for the first time next week, with a view to it becoming an annual event helping to bring people together and clean up the country.
As part of its support for the country’s biggest-ever community clear-up Corby Council is seeking volunteers to take part in the following organised litter-picks across the borough.

As well as the community litter picks Corby Council will also be cleansing street signs in Cottingham and carrying out their dog fouling campaign throughout Shire Lodge and Oakley Vale.
As part of the dog fouling campaign officers from Corby Council’s environmental services team will spray dog waste in bright, stand out colours to encourage irresponsible dog owners to see how much it affects our environment and to hopefully change their behaviour.
Throughout the dog fouling campaign water based environmentally friendly spray is used, and all dog fouling is cleared away once the campaign has finished.

Hide AdTV wildlife presenter and children’s favourite Steve Backshall is lending his support to the Great British Spring Clean campaign, which is backed by the key anti-litter charities including Keep Britain Tidy, Keep Wales Tidy and Marine Conservation Society.
Corby Council Lead Member for Environment Cllr Mark Pengelly said: “The Great British Spring Clean is about everyone working together to clean up the litter that blights our landscape and communities.
“Last year we took part in the Clean for The Queen campaign, which was a huge success with over 300 bags of litter being collected.
“We’re delighted to be taking part in yet another fantastic community clean up, which brings people together to tackle an issue that many people care passionately about.”
