Injured cygnet found by Northamptonshire Police now recovering at swan sanctuary
When police community support officer, Paul Hurst, was out on cycle patrol at about 11.30am on October 25, he spotted an injured cygnet near the Nene Whitewater Centre, off Bedford Road in Northampton.
PSCO Paul Hurst called the RSPCA to report the incident and used the ‘What Three Words’ app to help explain where the cygnet was - the three words were ‘frozen, kick, edges’.

The charity took in the cygnet and carried out x-rays, which showed that the cygnet suffered from a dislocated neck.
The cygnet was provided with pain relief and ‘Animals In Need’ transferred it to their colleagues at the Swan Sanctuary to be rehabilitated and then returned to the wild.
The Swan Sanctuary is a Middlesex based charity dedicated to the treatment of swans and waterfowl.
