Discount chain looking for another site after closing Wellingborough store
QD Stores moved into the former Woolworths site in Market Street back in 2009, but it has recently closed after they were given notice to leave.
Despite this, bosses of the independently-owned chain of discount stores say they are keen to stay in the town and are looking at possible sites in or around Wellingborough.

A spokesman for QD said: “Sadly, we were given notice to leave our Wellingborough store by our new landlords.
“We are very pleased to be opening our new store in Raunds: that is part of the new store opening programme we have here at QD.
“It is not meant to be a replacement for our Market Street store in Wellingborough.

Five staff from the Wellingborough store have transferred over to the new Raunds store, which is opening tomorrow (Thursday) at 9am, and they will add to the seven new staff that are being recruited.
The new stor manager Anthony Nash is transferring to Raunds from QD’s Thing-Me-Bobs store in March.
