On Thursday, Northampton Crown Court heard Rodgers pleaded guilty to two counts of raping a woman.

His Honour Judge Michael Fowler said, if he had been sentencing all the offences together, he would have jailed Rodgers for 12 years.

As a result, he sentenced Rodgers to a further five years in jail, consecutive to his seven-year prison term.

Rodgers is likely to serve half his sentence before being released on licence. He will be on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
