Magistrates remanded a 37-year-old man in custody after a vulnerable Northampton man paid £2,100 up front for gardening work.
Daniel Cash of Harborough Road, Great Oxendon, was charged with the fraud by false representation.
Cash was remanded in custody at a hearing on Tuesday (July 5) until his next appearance at Northampton Crown Court on a date to be fixed.
