Investigation into 'tragic' Wellingborough building site fatality
Four fire service vehicles and two police cars were at the Stanton Cross site this evening with nearby workers directing traffic after the incident at about 1.20pm.
A spokesman for developers Bovis Homes said: “We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident involving an employee of one of our sub-contractors.

Hide Ad"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the person involved.
"We are working with the authorities to understand what happened and we are unable to comment any further at this time.”
A spokesman for the government agency said more information would be released tomorrow.
The accident took place at a site just off route 4, near the Irthlingborough Road junction. Route 4 and nearby route 9 opened to traffic yesterday.

Hide AdA police spokesman said the victim was a Northampton man who was in his 40s but the nature of his death is yet to be confirmed.
The spokesman said: "We are investigating with the Health and Safety Executive."
It is the second death on the site after a worker died there in 2017.
