Facebook Marketplace 'buyer' punched woman in Kettering - police launch CCTV appeal

A man tried to run off while viewing a phone he had seen advertised on Facebook Marketplace – before punching the seller and fleeing.
Police have released an image of someone they want to speak to after the theft and assault, which took place in Kettering.

Hide AdIn an appeal launched today (October 25), police revealed the incident took place between 4.45pm and 5pm on Wednesday, August 30.
A man attended an address in Charles Street to purchase a mobile phone which had been advertised on Facebook Marketplace.
While viewing the phone the man went to run off, dropping his own phone in the process.
The seller picked it up but the man punched the woman several times to retrieve it, before fleeing in a nearby vehicle.

Hide AdA Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: “Officers believe the man in the image may have information which could assist with their investigation and are appealing for him or anyone who may recognise him to get in touch.
“Anyone with information is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101, or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
“Please quote incident number 23000540123 when providing any information to make sure it gets to the right person as quickly as possible.”
