A child caught carrying a knife on the Exeter estate in Corby has appeared before a court.

The 16-year-old was found with a knife on Cecil Drive on Sunday, April 26.

The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was caught by police with a kitchen knife and appeared before magistrates on Wednesday (June 23)

He admitted the charge and was given a contract to engage with the Northamptonshire Youth Offending Team youth offender panel for four months.

He will also have to pay a victim surcharge of £22 and costs of £85. There was also a collection order made to confiscate the knfe.
