Corby’s Christmas flood clean-up begins
Corby’s worst flooding for years caused many major roads to be blocked overnight - but miraculously homes and business seem to have avoided the brunt of it.
Homeowners in surrounding villages have not been so lucky with people having to build a dam to protect houses in Middleton. Parts of Brigstock and Weldon were also under water.

The BP Roundabout was under water by 7pm and parts of Oakley Road, Cottingham Road at Elizabeth Kingsthorpe Avenue and the Old Village were shut off.
Abington Fields were also under a foot of water and some flooding remains today.
But by this morning all major routes were open and clear of the majority of flood water. Some minor roads including Collingwood Avenue are still shut because of standing water.
Drier weather is forecast for most of the day although there is still a flood risk in place in some parts of the county.
