Urgent appeal for unneeded mobility equipment in Northamptonshire to support coronavirus patients

Anyone with unneeded mobility aids or community equipment in Northamptonshire is encouraged to give it back to support those affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
Millbrook Healthcare, which has centres in Northampton and Kettering, is making an urgent appeal to support hospitals and address increased demand for its services due to Covid-19.

Hide AdCommunity beds, mattresses, commodes, bath lifts, shower chairs, toilet surrounds, patient turning equipment, hoists and slings that are no longer needed can be donated.
A Millbrook spokesman said: "Our collections are free and contactless – where possible we pick up from outside people’s homes to ensure everybody stays safe.
"This equipment is loaned on behalf of the NHS and local authority social care teams, when people leave hospital or after a period of illness, to help them stay safe at home and retain their independence.
"The Covid-19 pandemic has increased demand for this equipment and created shortages in supply.

Millbrook said it has ample stocks of smaller items such as crutches and walking frames.
Any donated the equipment will be taken to a service centres to be deep cleaned, tested and refurbished if necessary, ready to be issued to others.
