Shaun Strydom, associate principal of Brooke Weston Academy, said: "A student at Brooke Weston Academy has received a positive test result for Covid-19 and is now self-isolating for 10 days.

"Due to our rigorous processes and stringent bubbles, Public Health England have advised that only students who are close contacts or in their tutor group should self-isolate as a precautionary measure for 14 days.

"The students who have been asked to stay at home will continue their learning with the support of our teachers online.

"All other students should continue to attend the academy as they would do normally, providing they have no symptoms.
