Age UK Northants launches appeal for essential supplies to help those most vulnerable during pandemic

A Northamptonshire charity that provides services for older people in the county has launched an appeal for supplies amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Age UK Northamptonshire has adapted its services so that the most vulnerable people can receive support from the community.

Hide AdThe charity is now operating an emergency food and medication delivery service to make sure people the charity works with get hot meals and essentials, but the service needs donations to be able to continue.
Chris Duff, Age UK Northamptonshire chief executive: “All of our staff and volunteers are working hard during these challenging times to alleviate the impact of Coronavirus on older people in Northamptonshire.
“Donations at this critical time are extremely valuable and greatly appreciated.
“Every donation will help us deliver the increased care and support needed to keep older people safe.”

Hide AdSupplies including tinned food, soup, pasta, rice, cleaning supplies, toilet roll and entertainment such as jigsaw puzzles, card games, books and crosswords, will be greatly received.
Alongside the delivery service, which is currently running Monday to Friday, the charity has also adapted face-to-face services in accordance with the social distancing guidelines.
The drop-off point for donations is the Venton Centre, York Road, Northampton and a drop-off can be arranged by emailing [email protected] or calling 01604 604500 during business hours or 07900 228 057 out of hours.
