Wheatus to play debut LP in full


US indie rockers Wheatus return to the region on Saturday, touring in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the release of their debut album.

The band, led by Brendan Brown, released their self titled debut in 2000.

The record featured the singles Teenage Dirtbag, a cover of Erasure’s A Little Respect and Wannabe Gangster. It has sold more than five million copies worldwide.

Teenage Dirtbag topped charts around the world, with the video to the single featuring actor Jason Biggs.

Following their debut, Wheatus continued to release albums as well as tackling lawsuits, line-up changes, interstate art heist investigations, betrayals, intellectual property theft and physical violence.

Their latest album, The Valentine LP, was released in 2013.

Wheatus play the Craufurd Arms in Wolverton on Saturday, October 24. Support is by Mike Doughty, The Hipstones and Gabrielle Sterbenz.
